 My name is Brent Gardner, and I've been in the financial services business for two decades, primarily helping small business owners with their financial planning needs, like estate planning and retirement planning.
Several years ago, my mother owned a successful antique and gift shop. That's when I first found out how expensive it could be to accept credit and debit cards. I also saw first hand how costly bad checks could be when a few grifters targeted my mother, and used the federal bankruptcy system to "legally" rob her of over $3,000 in one weekend. Starting in 2004, I began offering merchant accounts to my business owner clients, primarily to help free up cash flow so they could purchase things they needed and wanted, like a retirement plan, or life and disability insurance to protect their family.
I also started offering check guarantee programs, which are essentially insurance against bad checks and fraud.
I partnered up with United Bank Card in 2005, because they were the first processor to offer a FREE credit card terminal. Everyone else in this business wanted to rent, sell, or even worse, lease you a terminal at a very high markup (some of the lease deals I've seen border on criminal).
Since then, United Bank Card has added FREE electronic check conversion imagers, and FREE Electronic Cash Registers with a credit card terminal included!
 Starting in January, 2011, we're even offering FREE Harbortouch Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals!
